Most teachers have strict content requirements for their classroom instruction. Generally, however, for students who love mythology, it is sufficient to put several copies of the Study Guide in a folder alongside several mythology books. Or, especially during "down times," e.g. days when classroom periods are shortened to accommodate weather delays or school celebrations, the projects posted below can be used in the classroom simply by changing the focus to fit the Medusa study guide. Given the interest in comic-book heroes, one of the easiest ways would be to ask students to connect a one or more of the characters with one of today's comic-book characters or ask them to create a modern comic strip using the mythological characters. The "Tissue Box" project can be completed using little class time, and it is especially popular with school secretaries. Also, it promotes your class to everyone who comes into the school. Contact dwinstan@gmail.com if you have any questions about the projects. |
